She is also active in local community groups, including the Friends of the Moor and the University of the Third Age. Though new to governance, Julie is eager to contribute meaningfully.

George Anthony Hughes

George trained as a Chemical Engineer and held senior roles in the chemical industry, including international postings. Upon retirement, he joined Egerton’s governing board to offer his management expertise. Though new to education, George has contributed to curriculum design and enjoys working with staff on school improvement. He is a keen walker, traveller, and golfer, and values the school’s role in the Knutsford community.

Jayne Chapman

Jayne manages the Farm at Tatton Park and has worked there for 36 years. She is passionate about educating children on food production and healthy eating. Jayne is an avid walker, outdoor swimmer, and active participant in Knutsford’s community events, including May Day and the county show.

Tom Hollingsbee

Tom is Associate Vicar at St John’s Church, Knutsford, with nearly 10 years in ministry. He has extensive governance experience as a church trustee and joined Egerton’s board to support its educational mission. Tom enjoys reading, sports, and spending time with his family, including three children. He values the longstanding relationship between the church and school and is committed to helping all pupils receive the best education possible.

Rebecca Lumsden

Rebecca is a primary school teacher with 20 years of experience in the UK and Australia. She became a governor to make a difference in children’s lives and give back to the community. Rebecca enjoys long walks, relaxing in coffee shops, and spending time with family. With two children at Egerton, she values regular engagement with staff and students and is excited to contribute to the school’s development.

Martin North

Martin runs a small IT company and brings extensive experience from the tech industry. He also serves as Vice Chair on the board of an NHS Hospital Trust. His journey into school governance began as Chair of the local pre-school, which later merged with Egerton Primary. Motivated by a desire to make a positive impact, Martin joined the primary school’s governing body. His governance experience in healthcare offers valuable insights, and he’s eager to support the school where his son attends. Outside of work, Martin enjoys cycling, barbecues, and spending time with his young son.

Neil McKinlay

Neil is a retired Mechanical Engineer with a career spanning the chemical, drinks, and healthcare sectors, where he managed large-scale manufacturing operations. His expertise includes strategic planning, budget management, and leading diverse teams. After visiting Egerton Primary, Neil was inspired by the school’s ethos and felt his experience in regulated environments could be of value. Since joining, he has served as a school governor, safeguarding lead, committee chair, and LGB chair, and was part of the team that hosted an Ofsted inspection. Neil enjoys golf, walking, and travel, and is a proud grandfather to five. He is also active in the local church and golf club and was previously a member of the Round Table.
