Upon publication of the announcement in the London Gazette on 9th June 2023, David commented
“It is a privilege to be appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire. I look forward to working alongside the Lord Lieutenant and the other Deputies for the benefit of everyone in Cheshire. Education and community have featured throughout my career, as I have seen the transformational impact that it can have on members of our society. I am particularly looking forward to using my role to advocate for and support young people across all our communities.”
Mike Cladingbowl, CEO of The Learning Alliance said
“It’s a real honour to see David appointed to the Lieutenancy. He is a strong advocate of education and has already offered so much to the younger generations of Cheshire through both his professional and voluntary work in education. We are fortunate to have David as our Chair at the Learning Alliance where he actively champions the work of the Trust to improve educational outcomes of the young people in our communities. It is to the benefit of Cheshire that he will be able to continue this advocacy across the region.”
